child-like

knowing that You are so big

from all the complexity
the worries; the fears
and let me live the life of simplicity
the little child tenderly in Your care

buried in the trash heap
not even knowing she is loved
she's broken, dirty and used
she's been thrown out by the world
and viewed as worthless
little does she know
there is One whose heart beats for her
He longs for her and searches for her
always crying out to have her at His side
He sees how the world has treated her
it has not seen her beauty
it betrayed her, used her, and threw her out
she is looked upon with disdain
except by the Lovely One
His eyes are filled with tenderness and love
His eyes have never left her
He sees beyond the outer darkness
to the pearl within
the field that contained the pearl of great price
has turned out to be a garbage dump
His beloved is found there
will you search for her?
will you look beyond the filth
to see His beautiful bride
waiting to be loved
waiting to be set free

to have a sparkle in the eyes

to live in wonder and awe
all the senses fully alive
to be uncaged and let out of every prison
to experience the freedom
of a horse running
face to the wind
unhindered, finally set free
and yet safe in Your arms
surrounded by Your love
no fear; no worries
nothing holding me down
what would it be like?
I'd like to find out...

keeping you from the fullness
of My goodness
now I invite you to a safe place
a truly safe place
of rest in My arms
of peace in My presence

look through the walls
into the place of warmth
of My love; of My provision
it's a new day
old things, dark things
falling away
being left behind
as you step into the new
it's a new day....

knowing He is loving me
just as I am
not loving who I will be
but loving me right now
whether I'm hurt, or confused
or striving with all my might
still He is loving me
His love is consistent
it doesn't waver
it's not dependent
on how I'm doing
He simply loves
He wants the real me
-no masks-
even when I don't have a clue
how to receive
His heart is pouring out
making a way
finding a way
to touch my life
and make me whole
it isn't dependent on me
figuring out how to do it
or performing in any way
my "yes" is the greatest tool
in my toolbelt
turning to Him
depending on Him
saying Yes, I want what you have for me
I'll let you do it for me

performance was no friend to me

liberated from one who was cruel and hard
who promised me much
but in reality stole life from me

faith is entering in

unseen; of another kingdom
but more real than what I see with my eyes
